Pretty Things: Kim Westad ceramics
Labels: Ceramics / Inspiration / Pretty things
I have a preference for white ceramics because I can put them anywhere and they blend in. Kim Westad's ceramics have been on my wishlist since I saw her pieces. She's my current favorite potter~

Children of Hurin
Labels: Books / Books: Tolkien / Culture
Went on a lunch date with BF yesterday. While he was at his usual visit to the sports store, I was on the other side perusing through a second hand book shop, Booksale.
There must be a new delivery, the staff were updating the shelves. I found popular titles in hardcover; all three books of Lord of the Rings, this book "Children of Hurin" and The Last Empress. All in less than 300php! Super bargain!!! (ノ^^)ノ☆彡
I wanted to buy them all but I didn't have enough cash with me. I hate not having money when I see bargain books like this. (+_+)
Still contemplating if I should go back~

Pretty things: Vintage music
Labels: Culture / Pretty things
1. Crosley AV Room Portable USB Turntable $160, 2. Adele 21 LP $24.98, 3. The Beatles Abbey Road LP $18.98
Wouldn't it be cool to have this in the house? Sitting one afternoon and listening to old records?
Or not so old..I didn't know artists of our generation also produce vinyl records of their albums.
Adele is my latest music obsession. Her voice is addicting.

Won in a Goodreads book giveaway!
I got an email from Goodreads telling me I won in a book giveaway last Sunday. It was for this book ..I completely forgot about it till I checked my email again. Yey!!! (=^∇^)ノ I never thought I'd actually win when I joined, I never win anything (be it giveaways, lottery, scratch card thingies!). Do they know about my birthday? I only put my birthday after I won the giveaway though... ~
I read a few pages from google books and was considering getting a copy cause I really liked the story and the way it was written. I don't usually read non-fiction books~ I find them textbook-like, as if I'm supposed to memorize their life story or something, but this one I enjoyed reading~ very engaging!
I can't wait to get it! Thanks again Goodreads and Susy Flory. 。・:*:・゚☆(@ ̄∇ ̄@)ノ~~~

Style: Crochet Knit Sweater + Maxi dress
Labels: Fashion
My mom got me a knit sweater last June but I haven't been able to wear it. It's too big and too long for me. Clearly, it's not designed for Asians. I'm trying to decide if I should bring it to the tailor and have them fix it for my size or just buy a new one.
Crushing on maxi dresses but alas ( ̄へ ̄) they're not for me. I'm short and wide.

The Secret Garden
Originally a classic novel for children, it's a story of Mary Lennox, who loses her parents and was sent to live with her distant relatives. Due to her parents indifference towards her she was a bit spoiled and quick-tempered.
Mary hears a story about her aunt's secret rose garden that was locked when she had died. Her uncle leaves for long periods of time in mourning of his wife's untimely death. Mary eventually finds the door to the garden along with the key. She spends her days tending to it with the help of her maidservant's brother.
Every night she hears someone crying and decides to follow the voice. She finds that the crying voice belonged to her cousin which had been hidden in his room because of his weak body. Both cousins find joy in learning about each other. Intrigued by Mary's stories of the secret garden, Colin decided to visit the garden as well. He was brought out for the first time in years. Slowly Colin regains strength of his legs and practices diligently hoping to surprise his father.
Colin's father finally goes home after dreaming that his wife was calling him into the garden. He finds the garden in full bloom and his son running happily.
Mary, Colin and her uncle have all lost something but love & hope was not completely lost. Just like the garden, family can be rebuilt and hope can bloom again.
