Just make Art Vol.02, collages

Almost a year since my last craft update. (^-^ ;") I am fickle and I lose heart half way through the things I do. Hopefully this time I don't break the streak. I have a plan. (Mainly following Seinfield Strategy.)

I spent more time than I thought I should have on this. I guess I should have stopped and did the things I needed to do but I didn't want to lose the momentum. The past fears and struggle are slowly starting to creep in but I will be braver this time. And also a lot wiser. There is no growth without struggle. Bring it on, self!

Just make Art Vol.01

When it comes to art, I am satisfied with the role of a spectator. However I do believe we are capable of making art only for ourselves. As an avenue to create what was once only a thought. :)

Here is my attempt at drawing a wood pattern. I need to draw this in pen next time. You can barely see it. >.<

Oh look! I found this at Booksale. Love it when I find treasures like this. So I will leave you with words from Andy Warhol: "Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it."

Maker's Market, March 2015

Amazing things happen when you do what you love.

Last Sunday, I went to Maker's Market at Estancia Mall, Capitol Commons Pasig. I loved it there. Me being an SM kid, I appreciate the cozy atmosphere. It's not yet crowded which was perfect for my first bazaar. A huge crowd terrifies me. *lol*

It's a curious feeling being scared and excited at the same time. It's that feeling you get when you're looking down from a great height. Sometimes all you need to do is take a deep breath and free fall. :) I will definitely treasure the feeling. I will not lose the vision. :)

Thank you to the organizers, fellow sellers and especially you guys who stopped, looked and listened to our handmade stories.

Larry the bunny

Well here he is, finally "done". Not sure if I'll add a nose or mouth :3 I kinda like how weird he looks. He looks creepy. *lol*







Actually the reason Larry looks so-not-finished is because I want to start making another type of doll - the one on the sketch. *heh* The scanner in me is acting up again. （￣◇￣)ゞ

I plan to make a collection of dolls out of my "Larry" prototype. I need to work on it more though. I think I should start on the face first. The face makes or break a doll (in my opinion) and I haven't found a signature look for my doll. I was practicing Konata eyes but my embroidery skills are really horrible! I need to practice more.

Summer crafts: DIY dreamcatcher tutorial

This is so addicting! I don't know what I'm going to use these dreamcatchers for though :/ should I string them up to make mobiles, garlands...or simply make a necklace?



Materials:
Yarn, crochet thread, leather, nylon cord etc.
metal / wood hoops*
charms
beads

*Mine is diy-ed from wire. Form wire on any cylinder object, wrap twice, remove, then twist them together. Make a final twist to seal the ends.

Summer Crafts: Natural style Dreamcatcher

As much as dreamcatchers fascinate me, they also seem spooky. They are, don't you think? Especially the traditional ones with feathers and native charms. :/ I know they have their purpose. Supposedly the feathers guide good dreams down while various charms protect the person sleeping. They scare me much the same way wind chimes do. (Or maybe I just read too much. *lol*)

I might add them later if I find ones that don't scare me

But I would prefer dreamcatchers in happy colors or made from doilies! (Where do you buy doilies btw?!)

I'm not plagued by bad dreams but I can feel my mind getting heavier. My condition is acting up again. I'm taking meds and busying myself with reading and crafts. Hopefully I'll feel better soon. :( What do you do when your own mind/body betrays you. *sigh*

Still...I will fight!

As much as I want to make a Fancy Letter out of the entire alphabet. Unfortunately each one takes me 2 days to make so....I decided that letters will be available for customized orders only. :)



I will focus on making ampersands because its my favorite logogram. v(￣ｰ￣)v

I built the core with sturdy materials so that it won't budge even if it gets tossed around the house. *lol* The fabric is from my collection of Japanese cotton. I finally had some use for them. :) Which means!!! I can shop for a new batch! *yey*

It's funny how a few days ago I was talking about being frustrated with my current projects. Now that I finished something, I'm pumped and ready to make more! I guess I really just have to keep on creating. I don't know...maybe in the next few days, I'll be here ranting again. *lol*

At least tonight, I'll be able to sleep soundly knowing my struggles and mistakes helped me get to where I want to be. :)
Today I'll finish the final versions of my Vintage deco blocks.

Frustration

I'm feeling a huge amount of frustration and disappointment. I'm struggling with my current projects. I'm a scanner. When I've tried out something I usually move to something else. This is (maybe) the first time I ever spent so much time on just one craft.

I'm actually close to finishing the first batch, I guess I'm feeling scared because I would have to start all over again for the next batch. All the frustration and long process.... *sigh* ( T-T)

Also I'm working on another project and it didn't go so well despite all the hard work I put into it. Oh well experiments are a learning process!

I know I need this pain and struggle. I know I need to learn patience. I need to love the process. This is a fight I must never give up on! Fight!!!!

Woodworking, an update (aka rant)

After 2 weeks of experimentation, finally something close to a finished product. It is so much work. SERIOUSLY! I learned a lot working with wood. That shortcuts and impatience will only create more work. NOTED!!!

So I'm redoing everything and doing things properly this time.

Crafty Friday: Dream hobby

So I took the plunge. I got tired of second guessing myself and worrying what people are going to say. Yesterday, I bought wood and tools like a boss! (Ok I had some help )

I am currently broke ( T_T)人(T_T ) and experiencing frustration with the tools because it's very time consuming! Cutting and making sure everything fits took me half a day! (It still doesn't fit because I made a mistake with the cutting. wahaha) Patience is not really my thing. Though instead of wanting to give up, here I am researching ways on how to do things properly.

I'm also going to be busy covering everything because I'm working inside my tiny unit (^-^;)ゞ.

So this is an advance notice of my lack of posts next week. I'm on a craft battle!
